A wonderful crowd of readers, birders, and conservationists including Portland, Maine major Michael Brennan, staff of the Nature Conservancy, and Charles Duncan of Manomet launched Moonbird: A Year on the Wind with the Great Survivor B95 at Longfellow Books.
Author Phillip Hoose gave a compelling review of the life of B95, the forces that work against B95, and the amazing individuals and organizations that work for him. A teenage boy in the audience said that he liked it when author Phillip Hoose said, “Science is cool. Creatures are cool. Let’s keep them all on the ark.”
“Oh,” and the young reader added, “that ‘I Need Eggs’ song was pretty funny too.” Yes, the Delaware Bay Blues brought down the house!
